Grotto Bay was ideal for what we were looking for during our four-day stay on Long Island. I brought my two children and their significant others, and the house gave all of us our own bedrooms and bathrooms, which was perfect. The house is very well located, with a liquor store, grocery store and several great restaurant options all within about five minutes. Grotto Bay itself is extremely well equipped, and the air conditioning worked amazingly well—particularly appreciated during the summer months! One of the highlights of our stay was renting a boat from Long Island Boat Rentals. They delivered the boat directly to the beach in front of the house, and we were able to keep it on a mooring just offshore for the duration of our stay. You really can't ask for much more than that. The grotto and cave system adjoining the property is another amazing feature, complete with bats and plenty of other creatures to discover. One piece of advice: don't explore the caves at night after too many cocktails—it makes for quite an experience! Cheryl took wonderful care of us throughout our stay and was always available with local knowledge, insider tips and suggestions for things to do. The Good Life Vacation Rentals also took excellent care of us from beginning to end. Everything was handled professionally and made our stay easy and enjoyable. We had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend both Grotto Bay and The Good Life Vacation Rentals to anyone planning a stay on Long Island. We would happily return. Jose
Excellent Our stay at Salt Pond in the Bahamas was absolutely fantastic! The house was perfect for us and had everything we could have possibly needed. It was stocked with every amenity you could think of, including beach rafts, a beach umbrella, and so many thoughtful extras that made our vacation even more enjoyable.The home itself was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. We truly loved staying here and would not hesitate to book it again on a future trip.The property manager was also outstanding. Communication was excellent from start to finish, making our arrival and check-in process incredibly smooth and stress-free.We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Bahamas. It was an amazing place to stay, and we can't wait to come back!

Long Island is a special place and Grotto Bay is a perfect place to stay. We love exploring the remote beaches on both shores as well as the natural wonders like Deans Blue hole. We love the reef and wreck fishing for our dinner as well as the snorkeling and the unlimited sea life we see especially when it’s right at the back door on the clear waters of the home. Swimming and paddling over to the island never gets old either.
We loved our stay! The setting is beautiful & spaces comfortable for two families of 9 people. We enjoyed the amenities, beach chairs, kayaks, and incredible views. The kitchen was well stocked for making meals at home, which was really a necessity with our big group and somewhat limited dining options close by, and accessibility. We loved Tiny's, Max's Conch stand and Letta's. Cheryl gave us great beach ideas-Rocks beach was a fave.<br/>Our hosts were really responsive and helped us navigate the island really well. The residents of Long Island are wonderful people! There are several unique characteristics about the space that were fine for families with older kids, but younger families should be aware of. The 2 lower bedrooms are not connected to the main floor at all, requiring going outside and down steps to access. The 5th bedroom is in a separate building away from the main structure, but not pictured in the listing. It could use some updating compared to the rest of the house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our days at Grotto Bay! It was perfect. clean and supplied with so many amenities! Close to the grocery and the sunsets were superb! Karen answered all our questions prior to arriving and Cheryl was so helpful throughout our stay. Her orientation to the house and the island made our trip fantastic. The main room was great for dining and games for our large group!

Our stay at Grotto Bay was INCREDIBLE. Grotto Bay did not disappoint with the amazing kitchen, accommodations, beach, kayaks, bonfire pit and….a cave. Yup…a bat cave to explore at your own risk. The kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking tool imagined. It made cooking easy and fun. The dinner table was large allowing our large group to enjoy family style dinners. The house is beautifully prepared in so many ways. Luxury bath towels and bedding are provided as well as beach towels and sand mats. The private beach is very relaxing for those that want to float or lay on beach chairs while the paddle boards and/or kayaks can be used to explore the area including 3 easy to paddle to islands. The island property host was very responsive and kindly checked in throughout the week and gave us pointers on places to visit on the island. The booking, arrival, and departure experience was very simple too. Grotto Bay is centrally located making it easy to explore the south or the north sides of the island. A grocery store is very close making food shopping easy as well. If you are a boater this property and island is for you! Mooring a boat at Grotto Bay is simple. A marine fuel station is only a few minutes from the house. This property was very clean and perfectly put together for enjoying an experience of a lifetime. We look forward to a return trip in the near future!
I visited Grotto Bay in November. This house is beautiful, comfortable and spacious, and has all you need to have an unforgettable experience. The views from every spot in the house are absolutely stunning. The private beach is like having a piece of paradise in your backyard and the access to the Grotto steps away from the house makes it a unique place on the island. And be prepared for sunsets that will take your breath away!
Our large group had an ok time at this home. Future guests should be aware the listing needs to be updated. The photos don’t match, the outside views from the rooms are not accurate. Photos are very bright however rooms are much darker. I asked for room set up beforehand, that information was inaccurate. The main house contains 2 bedrooms, 1 with a king bed and the other with 2 queens. The other 2 rooms are separate from the home with individual entrances, downstairs with queen beds. The other room is under a large garage with 2 queens and is more like a dungeon, very dated. We had multiple issues with leaking/clogged toilets, roaches and no water. The city water is shut off every day for an about 4 hours and then off in the evening all night until about 7am in the morning. Not ideal with a baby and other children. Electricity was off the second day for a good portion of the day. Cheryl the prop mgr was awesome, very responsive and helpful. Very disappointed, would not recommend.
